Steven Webster Atwood, the direct descendant of the American orator and statesman Daniel Webster, is the founder of Animal Health Care Associates, Ltd., a mixed-animal general practice located on the island of Martha's Vineyard.

Dr. Atwood graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1975 with a B.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology and graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (V.M.D.) degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. Dr. Atwood completed an internship in small animal medicine, surgery and critical care at the New Haven Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Health Sciences School of Medicine, St. John's, Antigua in 2006 and his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Public Health Practice from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and School of Public Health in 2011. He is Board Certified in Public Health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.

Dr. Atwood was awarded membership in the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) of England in 2004 and serves on the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and the Board of Trustees of Falmouth Academy. He has served as a member and as Chairman of the Massachusetts State Board of Veterinary Medicine for many years. He is also a member of the Website Advisory Board for the One Health Initiative, a collaborative and integrative effort between physicians, veterinarians, nurses, and other scientific, health and environmentally-related disciplines to improve quality of life of humans and animals through cooperation and partnerships. In 2010, Dr. Atwood was inducted into the prestigious National Academies of Practice in Washington, D.C. as a Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow (FNAP) in Veterinary Medicine. Election to the Veterinary Medicine Academy is limited to 150 veterinarians worldwide. He was elected Chairman of the Veterinary Medicine Academy in 2013. He is also an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM) and of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH), both of London, England.

In Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania named the Steven W. Atwood Library & Information Commons and the Steven W. Atwood, V.M.D., M.D. Digital Laboratory in his honor.

Terry Iadicicco Lowe is a Board Certified Animal Health Technician. She graduated from Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1990. After an internship at the University of Pennsylvania's Small Animal Hospital in Philadelphia (VHUP) and the University of Pennsylvania Large Animal Facility: the New Bolton Center in Kennet Square, PA, she accepted a position in New York City at St. Marks Veterinary Hospital, specializing in small and exotic animals. Two years later she accepted a position at the Tribeca-Soho animal hospital. As the practice grew and expanded, Terry was appointed Clinic Supervisor and Practice Manager for their two Manhattan locations. After ten years in New York, she and her daughter Josie moved to her second home of Martha's Vineyard. Terry's mother was born and raised on the Vineyard and the family has vacationed here every year. Terry was employed by Animal Health Care Associates, LTD during the summers of 1989 and 1990; and after her permanent move to the Vineyard in 1999, she joined the Animal Health Care team full time as the Head Technician. Today, Terry has a new position as Practice Manager. She is thoroughly enjoying her work and she looks forward to helping to grow the practice in new areas of Animal Health Care. Terry Currently lives in Oak Bluffs, MA with her husband Tim, her daughter Josie, their two dogs Sophie and Cole and their cat Lucy.

Jennifer Hanna was born and raised right here on Marthas Vineyard. She is the proud mother of a beautiful ten-year-old daughter Mackenzie. She graduated from Martha's Vineyard Regional High School in 1996.Jennifer's love of animals began at a very young age, as she was brought up around horses and participated in many horses shows both on and off of the Island. She began her work in the Veterinary field in 1999. Not soon after, she realized veterinary medicine was the career for her. She has enjoyed learning and enhancing her skills working in clinics here and on the mainland. She began her work with Animal Health Care Associates, LTD nine years ago and is currently Head Veterinary Technician. Jennifer enjoys her work and it is displayed through her smile and great enthusiasm.Jennifer currently resides in Oak Bluffs with her family of two dogs, Darla & Nani. She also has a thoroughbred mare named Ella.

Jennifer Kleinhenz attended Laguardia Community College's Veterinary Technician program for two years. She then transferred to Mercy College’s Veterinary Technician program where she obtained her BA degree graduating with honors. After passing her state board exam she acquired her New York State Veterinary Technician license. She went on to complete a greatly coveted externship at the Bronx zoo. Her professional career began when she accepted a position at the Katonah Bedford Veterinary hospital where she worked alongside board certified veterinarians for the next five years. From there she moved on and accepted a position as head surgery technician for Dr. Martin DeAngelis, a board certified orthopedic surgeon. She worked with Dr. DeAngelis for the next three years until making her move to Martha's Vineyard. Jen joined the AHC team in May of 2013 and has been a great asset to the practice ever since. She has brought many years of high quality nursing skills to the team. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and skill base with the other up and coming veterinary technicians.
